Jackson Browne - The Load Out / Stay - Live 1978

Jackson Browne - BBC In Concert Live At Shepherd's Bush Theatre, London 1978 Jackson Browne - lead vocal, piano David Lindley - lap steel guitar, vocal Craig Doerge - keyboards Bob Glaub - bass Jim Gordon - drums Rosemary Butler, Doug Haywood - vocals Lyrics: Now the seats are all empty Let the roadies take the stage Pack it up and tear it down They're the first to come and the last to leave Working for that minimum wage They'll set it up in another town Tonight the people were so fine They waited there in line When they got up on their feet they made the show And that was sweet but I can hear the sound of slamming doors and folding chairs And that's a sound they'll never know Now roll them cases out and lift them amps Haul them trusses down and get'em up them ramps 'Cause when it comes to moving me You know you guys are the champs But when that last guitar's been packed away You know I still want to play So just make sure you got it all set to go Before you come for this piano But the band's on the bus And they're waiting to go We've got to drive all night and do a show in Chicago or Detroit, I don't know We do so many shows in a row And these towns all look the same We just pass the time in our hotel rooms And wander 'round backstage Till those lights come up and we hear that crowd And we remember why we came Now we got country and western on the bus, R&B We got disco in eight tracks and cassettes in stereo And we've got rural scenes & magazines We've got truckers on ...

Jackson Browne For A Dancer

BBC Old Grey Whistle Test 1976 With David Lindley Keep a fire burning in your eye Pay attention to the open sky You never know what will be coming down I don't remember losing track of you You were always dancing in and out of view I must've thought you'd always be around Always keeping things real by playing the clown Now you're nowhere to be found I don't know what happens when people die Can't seem to grasp it as hard as I try It's like a song I can hear playing right in my ear That I can't sing I can't help listening I can't help feeling stupid standing 'round Crying as they ease you down (Alt:crying is the easier down) 'Cause I know that you'd rather we were dancing Dancing our sorrow away (Right on dancing) No matter what fate chooses to play (There's nothing you can do about it anyway) Just do the steps that you've been shown By everyone you've ever known Until the dance becomes your very own No matter how close to yours another's steps have grown In the end there is one dance you'll do alone Keep a fire for the human race Let your prayers go drifting into space You never know what will be coming down Perhaps a better world is drawing near And just as easily, it could all disappear Along with whatever meaning you might have found Don't let the uncertainty turn you around (The world keeps turning around and around) Go on and make a joyful sound Into a dancer you have grown From a seed somebody else has thrown Go on ahead and throw some seeds of your own And ...

Jackson Browne - Doctor My Eyes + lyrics

Jackson Browne - Doctor My Eyes Lyrics: Doctor, my eyes have seen the years And the slow parade of fears without crying Now I want to understand I have done all that I could To see the evil and the good without hiding You must help me if you can Doctor, my eyes Tell me what is wrong Was I unwise to leave them open for so long 'Cause I have wandered through this world And as each moment has unfurled I've been waiting to awaken from these dreams People go just where they will I never noticed them until I got this feeling That it's later than it seems Doctor, my eyes Tell me what you see I hear their cries Just say if it's too late for me Doctor, my eyes Cannot see the sky Is this the PRICE for having learned how not to cry

Jackson Browne - "Something Fine" (February 2011)

After the Fretboard Journal interviewed Jackson Browne for their latest issue (Fretboard Journal #22), we asked if he'd play a tune for us. The result is this amazing version of "Something Fine" performed on his cherished Gibson Roy Smeck Stage Deluxe guitar. Filmed at Browne's Santa Monica, California studio on February 16, 2011 by Jason Verlinde of the Fretboard Journal. One of his best songs. This pure acoustic track is my favorite version of the song he recorded. The song is about his wife Phyllis, and there's a lot of emotion in the lyrics.

Jackson Browne - Sleep's Dark And Silent Gate + lyrics

Jackson Browne - Sleep's Dark And Silent Gate Lyrics: Sometimes I lie awake at night and wonder Where my life will lead me Waiting to pass under Sleep's dark and silent gate I found my love too late Running around day after day Looking for the time to play While my old friends slipped away Never should have had to try so hard To make a love work out, I guess I don't know what love has got to do with happiness But the times when we were happy Were the times we never tried Sitting down by the highway Looking down the road Waiting for a ride I don't know where I've been Wishing I could fly away Don't know where I'm going Wishing I could hide Oh God this is some shape I'm in When the only thing that makes me cry Is the kindness in my baby's eye Sometimes I lie awake at night and wonder Where the years have gone They have all passed under Sleep's dark and silent gate

Jackson Browne - Too Many Angels (From "Going Home" DVD)

www.eagle-rock.com "Going Home" was originally broadcast on the Disney Channel in the USA in August 1994 as Jackson Browne was touring following the release of his acclaimed "I'm Alive" album. The live concert forms the core of this DVD but it is intertwined with interviews and archive performances telling the full story of his career from his start as a songwriter in the late sixties, his breakthrough as a performer in the early seventies, his political and ecological campaigning in the eighties and up to his return to recording after a four year absence with "I'm Alive". Always a strong selling title, "Going Home" is now being repackaged and reissued for 2010. Tracklisting: 1) I'm Alive 2) Farther On 3) Doctor My Eyes 4) These Days 5) Birds Of St Marks 6) Your Bright Baby Blues 7) Take It Easy 8) In The Shape Of A Heart 9) Everywhere I Go 10) World In Motion 11) You Can Get It If You Really Want It 12) Good Morning Little Mutant 13) All Along The Watchtower 14) The Pretender 15) For Everyman 16) Lives In The Balance 17) Knock On Any Door 18) My Problem Is You 19) Too Many Angels 20) Sleep's Dark And Silent Gate 21) Sky Blue And Black 22) Before The Deluge 23) Running On Empty / Credits

'These Days' Jackson Browne, Dawes & Jonathan Wilson 20/7/11

Dawes, Jonathan Wilson & Jackson Browne playing the Borderline London 20/7/2011 A truly wonderful evening of music; Dawes an awesomely talented young rock band from LA totally blew us all away. The quality of their playing was superb, all of them, No wonder Jackson is promoting such a band because he thinks they are so good, well they are. I've been going to shows for years now & they are up there with the best! Jackson seemed totally at ease & enjoying every second of it. I have to say I'm a huge JB fan & have seen him live numerous times over the years, ever since the release of the Pretender album/ tour, I think that was back in 1976. Although Jackson only played half a dozen or so songs on this particular evening, it was the most enjoyable of all the shows I've ever seen him! I'm not sure if that was down to the venue being much more intimate than a regular concert hall, or the raw energy & talent of Dawes simply engulfing & energising the audience, (& probably those on stage too). Also, I must thank & not forget the excellent & talented Jonathan Wilson who played a major part taking much of the lead in making it such a magical evening. At the end of show, a friend standing next to me said, 'how good was that, you could die now & go to heaven with a smile on your face' I simply replied... 'I'm already there', truly truly wonderful stuff... this is one show that I, and I'd imagine anyone else who was lucky enough to be there on the night, will not forget for a very ...

Jackson Browne - The Late Show

Everyone I've ever known has wished me well Anyway that's how it seems, it's hard to tell Maybe people only ask you how you're doing 'Cause that's easier than letting on how little they could care But when you know that you've got a real friend somewhere Suddenly all the others are so much easier to bear Now to see things clear it's hard enough I know While you're waiting for reality to show Without dreaming of the perfect love And holding it so far above That if you stumbled onto someone real, you'd never know (You'd never know) You could be with somebody who is lonely too (Sometimes it doesn't show) He might be trying to get across to you (Words can be so slow) When your own emptiness is all that's getting through There comes a point when you're not sure why you're still talking I passed that point long ago (Long ago) Now I'm so tired of all this circling And all these glimpses of the end (You know it's useless to pretend) That's all the voices say: 'You'll go right on circling Until you've found some kind of friend' I saw you through the laughter and the noise You were talking with the soldiers and the boys While they scuffled for your weary smiles I thought of all the empty miles And the years that I've spent looking for your eyes (Looking for your eyes) And now I'm sitting here wondering what to say (That you might recognize) Afraid that all these words might scare you away (And break through the disguise) No one ever talks about their feelings anyway Without ...

Jackson Browne - Tender Is The Night

Jackson Browne - Tender Is The Night Lyrics Between the darkness on the street And the houses filling up with light Between the stillness in my heart And the roar of the approaching night Somebody's calling after somebody Somebody turns the corner out of sight Looking for somebody Somewhere in the night Tender is the night When you hold your baby tight Tender are the motions, tender is the night Between a life that we expected And the way it's always been I can't walk back in again After the way we fight When just outside there are people laughing Living lives we used to lead Chasing down the love they need Somewhere in the night Tender is the night And the benediction of the neon light Tender are the hunters, tender is the night You're gonna want me tonight When you're ready to surrender Forget about who's right When you're ready to remember It's another world at night When you're ready to be tender Tender, tender tender... And in the hard light of an angry sun No one remembers what was said or done Tender are the words they choose You win, I win, we lose Tender Tender is the night Tender The benediction of the neon light Tender Tender are the hunters Tender is the night When they hold each other tight Tender Tender are the undercover Tender The stranger and the secret lover Tender Tender are the motions Tender is the night When you hold your baby tight Tender, tender tender...

The Eagles& Jackson Browne Take It Easy 1974‏ live.mp4

The Eagles, Jackson Browne, and Linda Ronstadt played together at an Eagles concert in 1974. Jackson Browne and Don Henley co-wrote "Take it Easy" when they were neighbors and Jackson played Henley a bit of the then unfinished song he was kinda writing for himself to remind himself to relax. Henley then asked to work on the song and Browne said yes, so Henley added the verse about the flatbed Ford. there's a statue of Browne and a depiction of a girl in a flatbed Ford in Winslow Arizona in tribute to the song and Browne. The Eagles, Browne, and Ronstadt all played some of their own songs, though of course the focus was on the Eagles as it was their concert. Browne did 3 songs, I think Ronstadt did 2 or 3, and the Eagles did the rest with Linda and Jackson doing backing vocals and guitar on the Eagles songs

Jackson Browne - Running On Empty + lyrics

Jackson Browne - Running On Empty Lyrics: Looking out at the road rushing under my wheels Looking back at the years gone by like so many summer fields In '65 I was seventeen and running up 101 I don't know where I'm running now, I'm just running on Running on - running on empty Running on - running blind Running on - running into the sun But I'm running behind Gotta do what you can just to keep your love alive Trying not to confuse it with what you do to survive In '69 I was twenty-one and I called the road my own I don't know when that road turned onto the road I'm on Running on - running on empty Running on - running blind Running on - running into the sun But I'm running behind Everyone I know, everywhere I go People need some reason to believe I don't know about anyone but me If it takes all night, that'll be all right If I can get you to smile before I leave Looking out at the road rushing under my wheels I don't know how to tell you all just how crazy this life feels I look around for the friends that I used to turn to to pull me through Looking into their eyes I see them running too Running on - running on empty Running on - running blind Running on - running into the sun But I'm running behind Honey you really tempt me You know the way you look so kind I'd love to stick around but I'm running behind You know I don't even know what I'm hoping to find Running into the sun but I'm running behind

Jackson Browne - I'll Do Anything

I'll Do Anything by Jackson Browne. Lyrics: You hold a life there in your hands You probably don't know Somehow your dreams became my plans Somewhere long ago Think about the things we've done and where we've been Your touch made me a king I don't want to live without your love again I'll do anything To make you see what I'm imagining To know the pleasure your smile can bring To keep the light from vanishing I'll do anything I fly this airplane upside down I walk out on the wing To see you watching from the ground I'll do anything When I see the light upon your upturned face I can hear the angels sing Don't ever let another take my place I'll do anything To make you see what I'm imagining To know the pleasure your smile can bring To keep the light from vanishing I'll do anything I make this world a place for you and me I make your happiness my responsibility To make this world the world you want to see I'll do anything When I see the light upon your upturned face I can hear the angels sing To see that no one ever takes my place I'll do anything To make you see what I'm imagining To know the pleasure your smile can bring To keep the light from vanishing I'll do anything
