Haircut 100 were a British pop group formed in 1980 by Nick Heyward. The band had four UK Top 10 hit singles between 1981-82, including "Favourite Shirts (Boy Meets Girl)" and "Love Plus One". "Love Plus One" is a song by New Wave band Haircut 100 from their debut album Pelican West. This was their only hit in the United States, peaking at #37 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.[1] The song was featured in a restaurant scene in the 1995 thriller film, Se7en. The song ranked #90 on VH1's 100 Greatest One Hit Wonders of the 80s. It was also featured in the popular movie Knocked Up. I always loved this bass line so here I present to you my version of Les Nemes' pop masterpiece. His bass part has such a great feel and it's not too hard (if you're a beginner) for most of the song. Give "Favourite Shirts" (from the album Pelican West) a listen as well if you get a chance.

This is the a side of the twelve inch version the b side featured so tired (album version) and fish in a bowl. put this up as there is not much of this later material on youtube. there was proper video for this that i saw many years ago but have never been able to find it maybe someone out there has it they could upload.

Back in 1982 Nick Heyward recorded a demo version of Nobodys Fool. he played all the instruments himself on the track and gave this to the record company as a possible fourth single for the group. The group then went on to record the proper studio version. The demo version was subsequently released as a free record with a magazine called Flexipop. basically it was a magazine aimed at the teenage pop market and each week they gave away a free record but not in the sense of the word vinyl. they gave you a flexi disc which was the same size as a seven inch single but very thin and fragile. they were meant only to be played a very few times before they were knackered. what you are listening to is the recording from this disc so apologies for the quality.

Another great Les Nemes bassline. I love this song. It's so easygoing and free flowing. It gets in your head but it doesn't bug you. Note: I played the last part a bit wrong. I can't explain it very well in writing but just listen to the original and you'll hear. It's not a very difficult variation to figure out. It should be a root-fifth-octave phrase. Thanks to "BIg J" for helping me film this thing. This time around I didn't have my ProTools rig handy so what the camera heard is what you get. The sound is not refined as my other videos. You can hear some nasty camera microphone compression at times. Still, the groove is there and the song is not that hard so get to it!
